The Plagiairsts are going on a retreat
Ah! How relaxing! Eight of us snowed into a tiny house in Fox Lake to talk about what we want out of life…
No really I’m excited. We leave today at 5:30 from Union Station, and I will have a beer on my way out. Looking at the weekend ahead, I am involuntarily reminded of the church lock-ins I went to as a youth. I wasn’t much of a church enthusiast; however, I did attend Catholic school for 12 years. The opportunity to spend a night with boys (and other friends) was very appealing to me when I was 13 or so- even if it meant sleeping in a church. (Well- we didn’t sleep IN the church. It was in the parish center attached). I would carefully choose what over-sized band tee-shirt I wanted to wear for the occasion, don some outlandish tights, mismatch some chuck tailors, and finish a mix tape for some boy I would see there (I specifically remember- Dan Titus). OH MY GOODNESS- WHAT WILL THE NIGHT HOLD?!
The evening was always terribly anti-climatic and terribly chaste (thank goodness). The morning after not sleeping at the lock in you were rounded up and herded into church for mass. Groggy groggy mass.
Anyway… The Plagiarists retreat will not be like that. There will be a lot more sex. I’m just kidding!!
God. At least I hope I’m kidding.
Happy Weekend all.
