Nebraskans are Crazy For Cell Phones
(Thanks to Andrew Sullivan http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2009/03/whats-up-with-n.html)
Several Plagiarists and Plagiarist pals are either from, or spent some formative years in Nebraska. We make no secret of it, and are often asked if we are part of some kind of Nebraska Mafia or an advance team for an invading army. To all these things I usually say, “Stop asking questions if you want to live.” Or I quote the immortal Tracy Jordan: “Prepare your bodies for Thunderdome.” Anyway, whenever Nebraska makes national news it’s either because of something stupid (child drop-off laws without age restrictions) or tragic (mall shooting). So I was delighted to see the state come up as part of a study on cell phone use.

So, what’s up with Nebraska, ya’ll? Any thoughts? I know this parallels my experience – it seems like all my peers were cell-phone users. My only explanation is that Alltell was the most evil, customer-hating company I’ve ever interacted with and drove many to simply go without a landline.
